Biography 

Emeka Akumefule (born January 29, 1996) is a prominent Nigerian singer, rapper and songwriter known professionally by his stage name, BlaqBonez.

He is signed to 100 Crowns Record Label, an affiliate of Chocolate City.

He is best recognized for his acclaimed title as the Best Rapper in Africa (BRIA).

Early Life 

BlaqBonez was born into a Christian Igbo family but grew up between the Yoruba and Urhobo cultures. He hails from the Southeastern part of Nigeria, IMO state.

He grew up with his mum, a pastor in the sub-Culture area, where he attended both his primary and secondary education. He further attended Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), where he studied an Engineering course for his tertiary education.

Career

Blaq began his career at the age of 13 after he was challenged by his cousin’s brother to come up with a verse after they had both listened to a 12-year-old boy rapping on the radio.

It was a coincidental act as he could come up with more than enough bars, and His life as an artist automatically began.

His parent was not totally pleased and not in support of his new career choice.

While in school, Blaq began rapping and thrilling his mates; soon, it became his new hobby, and he did it effortlessly.

While still in school, he participated in school competitions and eventually dropped his first project, Hip-Hop, in Blaq.

He participated in various competitions, including “Terry Tha Rapman’s Zombie competition.” He also got featured on Terry‘s album “World Domination.” The album was released in 2012 and features the likes of Olamide, Vector, Mode 9, and Spellz.

Five years along the line, Blaq was again featured in Terry’s album and also emerged as the first runner in the ‘King King Rap Competition‘ organized by Vector. He won The Rhythm FM Freestyle Fury, became Rhythmfm’s artiste of the month, participated in the Sound city’s Rap Competition, and emerged as the Hennessy Vs. Class captain Cypher winner.

He came to the limelight after releasing,’ South Africa must go’ featuring a Nigerian rapper, Oladips.

Over the years, He has bagged over eight albums and is currently trending with his proclaimed title as ‘Best Rapper in Africa.’

He has so also been featured along with prominent. 

Nigerian artists, including some other African Artists, in his latest album, Sex Over Love, released on April 2021.

Blaq first began his career as a text battler, moving from there to being a stage battler rapper and started releasing hit songs and gaining massive fame.

He recently released a song, Back in Uni, off his upcoming album title, ‘Young Preacher,’ which is scheduled to be released on October 27,2022.

Personal Life

Blaq is currently in a relationship with Gbemi Daniels. He flaunts his girlfriend on his social media page after he preached against love through his songs.

Blaq and Gbemi had been in a relationship that they both agreed to keep me private until He brought it out on his page.

He lives in a house he owned on the banana island in Lagos and also rides in his exotic cars.

In an interview, he stated that his widespread acclaim as the Best Rapper in Africa was a diss to other upcoming rather than to push themselves to do something better.
