Biography

Anathi Bhongo Mnyango (born January 8, 1993) is a professional South African Rapper, singer, songwriter, producer, and video director best recognized as Anatii.

Anatii is a universal artist born in Bisho, Eastern Cape town, South Africa. He came to notoriety after the release of his debut album, “Artiifact.” The album features some supreme artists like Tiwa SavageOmarion, and Farrow.

Early Life

Anatii was born in the Eastern part of Cape Town, South Africa but grew up with his parent in London along with his siblings. Anatii relocated to Johannesburg with his mum and siblings shortly after his Dad passed away, and he was just 15 years old.

His Dad was a famous DJ and a Radio Presenter. He, however, created a platform for his children, which helped them in their musical line.

Anatii’s love for music was birthed with him. He began singing right from his younger.

At age 14, Anatii has become a professional musician. He grew up being inspired by a rapper, Jozi.

Growing up, He wanted to also be involved in music production. However, he worked hard, gathered money, and got his first laptop. He had a teacher, RJ Benjamin, who taught him about production and how to perfect his Hip Hop skills.

Education

Anatii spent his formative in Lindon with his parent, Completing his primary education in London before he relocated with his family.

Career

Anatii began music as early as the age of 9. He started writing songs but earned his popularity at 14 when He received his first significant South African placement with L-Tido, for the song “When It Rains” in 2010.

6years along the line, Anatii released an album that shot him to stardom, titled ‘Artiifact. The album features some top African artists like Cassper Nyovest, Tiwa Savage, and Uhuru. He also featured Omarion, an American singer, and Farrow from Canada.

Anatii collaborated with AKA on an album titled ‘Becareful With What You Wish For’ released in July 2017.

He was nominated in August 2017 as The Young Independent Influencer of the Year. 

He was again nominated by GQ South Africa as one of the best-dressed men in South Africa in September 2017.

Anatii was selected as a high-level influencer for the LuQuLuQu project set up by the United Nations high commission for Refugees in November 2018.

The young act has released some popular hit songs and has worked with many respected and reputable artists locally and internationally.

His album ‘Iyeza’ was released on October 2018.

Personal Life 

Anatii grew up with his mother alongside his three siblings, who are all doing fine.

His sister, named ‘Ma Nala,’ is also a musician.

The 29 years old celeb lost his Dad when He was just 15 years of age. This led to why the family had to relocate from London to Johannesburg.

His parent were businessmen who owned various businesses, including a clothing boutique. His Dad is also a well-known DJ and Radio Presenter.

Anatii is currently single since he broke up with his previous girlfriend, Kay-Lynne Cloete. They separated due to their differences. However, He states that he is open to a serious relationship.
