Rohan Dennis (born May 28, 1990) is a highly accomplished Australian professional road racing cyclist who gained recognition as a key UCI World Visma–Lease a Bike member. His notable achievements include securing consecutive victories in the UCI men’s individual time trial world championships in 2018 and 2019, showcasing his prowess in time trial disciplines.
However, on February 10, 2023, Dennis shocked the cycling community by announcing his retirement from professional cycling, signalling the conclusion of his racing career by the end of the ongoing season.
Tragically, on December 31, 2023, a sad turn of events unfolded as Dennis faced a serious legal situation. He was arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving, driving without due care, and endangering life. The charges stemmed from an incident in Adelaide, where it was alleged that his wife, Melissa Hoskins, lost her life in a collision involving a vehicle driven by Dennis.
