Jordan Terell Carter (born September 13, 1996) is a professional American singer, songwriter, and rapper widely recognized as Playboi Carti.
Carti was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia and only began gaining fame in the music industry in 2015 when he released his debut mixtape, “Young Misfit,” which garnered some buzz in the underground rap community. However, his self-titled mixtape “Playboi Carti” in 2017 catapulted him to mainstream success. The mixtape featured hits like “Magnolia” and “wokeuplikethis*,” which helped him gain a significant following and recognition.
In May 2020, Carti released his highly anticipated and successful album, “Whole Lotta Red.” The album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart in collaborations with artists like Kanye West and Future.
