Minister Dunsin Oyekan was born and raised in Ilorin, Kwara State, into the esteemed family of Gbadebo Oyekan. As the only son, he inherited a rich musical heritage from his father, Pastor Gbadebo, who not only served as the General Overseer of the Evangelical Baptist Church but was also recognized as a Spiritual Singer, influencing Dunsin’s musical journey from an early age.

Under his father’s guidance, Dunsin began learning the guitar at the tender age of 10, a skill he pursued diligently alongside his academic pursuits. He attended Air Force School for his nursery and primary education before progressing to the Federal Government College, Ilorin, and later, the Baptist Model High School, Ilorin, where he continued to hone his musical talents.

After completing his secondary education, Dunsin pursued higher studies at the University of Ilorin, where he earned a degree in chemistry. Despite his academic endeavors, his passion for music remained steadfast, laying the foundation for his future career as a Gospel minister and musician.


Dunsin’s musical journey commenced at a young age, nurtured by his father, who taught him guitar and singing at just 10.
