Biography 

Letitia Michelle Wright ( born October 31, 1993) is a professional Guyanese-British actress born and raised in George Town.

Letitia came into the spotlight after portraying the role of Churi and the princess of Wakanda in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Black Panther, in 2018.

Early Life

Letitia was born and brought up in Georgetown, Guyana, where she spent her formative years before her family relocated to London.

She is presently 29 years of age and celebrates her birthday on October 30.

There are few details about the actress’s early life or family. 

At seven, she was enrolled in Northumberland Park Community School, located in London, where she had her primary education.

She started developing an interest in acting along the line, and her passion grew as she grew older. However, she was enlisted in an acting school called Identity School of Acting.

The school is recognized as an acting school where she learned the basics of acting.

She started performing in the school play and was recognized for her potential and performance.

Career

Letitia was seen in 2011, appearing on a Tv series, Holby City and Top Boy; she also appeared on ‘My Brother The Devil.’

In 2015, she was cast in a lead role by Michael Caston-Jones in a movie titled Urban Hymns. This particular role gave her an audience in the Hollywood movie industry.

She earned a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2017 due to her performance in Black Mirror. She was nominated for ‘Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.

Letitia starred in a movie that became her limelight movie in the industry in 2018, playing the role of ChuriKing T’Challa’s sister and the princess of Wakanda.

She was featured as the twin sister, June and Jennifer Gibbons, in the movie, The Silent Twins, released on September 2022.

Letitia has assumed the role of the Black Panther in the absence of Chadwick Boseman. The movie Wakanda Forever is scheduled to be released on November 11, 2022, and Letitia Wright, the princess of Wakanda, has assumed the role of Black Panther, becoming the lead actress.

She was also present in the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Premiere, held in Lagos, Nigeria, on November 6.

The actress grew up with her parent in England. Her parent encouraged her to take up her career due to her interest in it.

She is reported to be the only child of the Mr&Mrs Wright family, but she also has cousins whose details are not in the media space.
