Genoveva Kenechukwu Umeh (born May 8, 1995) is a Nigerian-British multi-talented actress, model, lawyer, and influencer known professionally as Genoveva Umeh.
She came to the limelight for her Excellent role performance in the movie and popular Netflix series” Blood Sisters” and “Far From Home“.
The [calculate_years datestring=”05/08/1995″] years old Genoveva was born o in the megacity of Enugu, Nigeria. She originally hails from the South-Eastern Part of Nigeria, Anambra State.
She was born to the Christian family of Mr and Mrs Umeh. She grew up in a family of four, consisting of her Kid brother, Herself and her parent. However, there’s currently no info about her parent or brother, who is presently [calculate_years datestring=”01/01/2009″] years.
In 2006, Her family relocated to the UK when she was just 11. Upon completing her basic education in Enugu at Saint Cyprian School, She was enrolled in St Mary’s and John CE High School in London, where she began her secondary education.
While in school, Genoveva developed a keen interest in acting and was actively involved in school drama activities. She also visited the theatre more often, watching the plays, admiring the actors and wishing to be in their midst.
After completing her secondary education, Genoveva progressed to study Law at the University of Surrey in the UK. She obtained an LLB Law degree and attended the Identity School of Acting in 2012.
She decided to pursue acting while studying Law, but when she was 17, she was accepted to the Identity School of Acting in the UK.
In 2018, Genoveva Umeh completed her studies in the United Kingdom and returned to Nigeria to pursue her acting career. In August of the same year, she started acting full-time and professionally. Genoveva has appeared in various popular Nollywood movies but got her first acting role in a series shot in Enugu.
However, she did not have her big break until she was featured in the movie “Blood Sisters” in 2021.
Genoveva was among the first students to enrol in the EbonyLife Creative Academy. During the program, her talent caught the attention of Kenneth, the HOD of the Directing faculty at the time. After noticing her outstanding acting skills, he recommended her to the CEO of EbonyLife Media, Mo Abudu.
In 2022, Genoveva starred in the Netflix Original series “Blood Sisters” produced by EbonyLife Studios. She played the prominent role of Timeyin in the series, which further cemented her position as a talented and versatile actress in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Despite Blood Sisters being her major acting debut, Genoveva has acted in several movies and short films, which include, Blameless, Love is War, Lizard, One Lagos Night, Reflections, Monitoring Spirits, Focus, Country Hard, Super Star, All Good Things, A Tune Away, Far From Home and more.
In late December 2022, She played the role of Zina in a popular Netflix series, which include other acts, Far From Home, which includes other actors like Ruby Okezie, Bolanle Ninalowo, Olumide Oworu, Funke Akindele, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Carol King, Bucci Franklin, Tomi Ojo, Moshood Fattah, Elma Mbadiwe, Mike Afolarin, and more.
