Personal Life

Aishwarya Rai began dating Salman Khan in 1999, but their relationship ended in 2002 owing to charges of violence, infidelity, and humiliation. She later had a romantic relationship with actor Vivek Oberoi, which ended in 2005. Rai married actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2010 after falling in love with her while filming Dhoom 2. The couple secretly married at Bachchan’s home in Juhu, Mumbai, and have been dubbed a “super couple” by the Indian media. Rai is a devout Hindu, and her international profile grew after Bachchan escorted her to the Cannes Film Festival and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Rai gave birth to a girl in November 2011, and she is frequently referred to as “Ash” and “Aish” but has stated her displeasure for being called such and has discouraged people from calling her by that names other than “Aishwarya” to avoid tarnishing her excellent name. Rai and her daughter tested positive for COVID-19 in July 2020 but recovered and were discharged from the hospital on July 27.
