Jimoh (born on April 15, 1997; Age:27 years) is a talented English actor who achieved recognition with a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for his outstanding portrayal of Sam Obisanya in the Apple TV+ hit series “Ted Lasso” (2020–2023). His acting prowess was also showcased in prominent roles such as his participation in the BBC One biographical film “Anthony” (2020) and his captivating performance in the Amazon Prime series “The Power” (2023).

His big break came when he was chosen to portray Anthony Walker, a tragic victim of a racially motivated assault in 2005, for BBC One’s “Anthony.” The show imagined an alternate reality where Walker’s life wasn’t cut short, and Jimoh’s performance was praised as captivating, deeply resonating with viewers.

His journey in the spotlight continued as he breathed life into Marcus in the Amazon series “The Feed.” Jimoh’s talent wasn’t confined to television; he also graced the stage at the Sheffield Crucible, enchanting audiences in a stage adaptation of Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” In 2020, he was one of the six performers chosen for the Almeida Theatre’s touching Christmas Play “Nine Lessons and Carols,” marking the theater’s triumphant return after London’s COVID-19 lockdown.

Toheeb’s star shone even brighter when he joined the cast of “Ted Lasso.” However, the character Sam Obisanya was originally envisioned as Ghanaian and Jimoh’s Nigerian heritage seamlessly blended with the role, leading to the character’s background being adapted accordingly. His portrayal injected vitality into the show, earning Sam Obisanya the title of “heartbeat” of “Ted Lasso.”

Expanding his repertoire, Jimoh embraced a pivotal role in the upcoming Amazon thriller series “The Power.” Here, he embodies the character of journalist Tunde, a Nigerian figure, in a story inspired by Naomi Alderman’s novel of the same name. He also secured a minor role in Wes Anderson’s cinematic creation, “The French Dispatch.”

The theater remained a vital platform for Jimoh’s artistic expression. An eagerly awaited moment arrived in the summer of 2023 when he was set to tackle the iconic character of Romeo in a production of “Romeo and Juliet” at London’s Almeida Theatre.
