In contrast, Kai Ko was released 14 days after his arrest.

Following his arrest, Jaycee‘s father, who happens to be China’s ambassador of anti-drug goodwill, eventually made a public appeal for his son’s inappropriate drug use and offered a public apology. Despite the appeal, Jaycee remained in custody, spending much of his life behind bars while reflecting on his actions and seeking solace in books alongside his mother.

It is worth mentioning that Jaycee’s legal troubles date back to December 2014, when he was found guilty of harboring drug dealers. The case was revisited, and on January 9, 2015, his trial commenced under the purview of the prosecution office. After spending 148 days in prison, Jaycee was sentenced to six months of imprisonment and a fine of 2,000 yuan ($320).
