Early Life
Bucci Franklin was born on June 9 and spent his early life in Port Harcourt Rivers state, hailing from Nkwere in Imo, located in the south-eastern part of Nigeria.
His ancestry and origin are traced to the eastern part of the country, being born to both Igbo parents of the same ethnic group and into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Odurukwe, who are indigenes of Nkwere local government in Imo state.
He developed an interest in the media industry from a young age and aspired to be an on-air personality, so he began his acting journey right from his undergraduate days at the university, where he participated in many stage and musical plays, which helped him to become popular as a student on the campus.
Bucci Franklin obtained his primary and secondary education in Port Harcourt, where he spent his childhood days and was trained by his civil servant parents, as he spent his formative years there.
Education
He received his primary education at Bereton Primary School, where he obtained his first School Leaving Certificate before proceeding to Covenant Secondary School, where he excelled in his O’Level results. After completing his secondary education, he was admitted to study Theatre Arts at the University of Abuja, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s in Theatre Arts.
Career
After graduating from the university, Bucci Franklin started his career as a presenter with the multi-mesh broadcasting company and was also a radio presenter at Love FM Abuja.
Bucci hosted popular television shows on NTA like” rising star,” and he was one of the pioneers and anchors of the spellbound TV magazine program aired on African independent television (AIT)
He later ventured into Nollywood, taking up various roles that starred as ‘Nze’ in the rebranded version of the movie “Rattle Snake” (the Ahanna story), which was highly successful.
He first rose to prominence for featuring in the movie “knockout blessing” in 2018. He also participated in the ‘spirited actor’ competition and emerged as one of the top 5 contestants representing Nigeria in the united states.
He has also gone further to feature in many other movies like; Heroes, Mrs. Elliot, written in the Stars, I Said I Do, etc.
Bucci was also the brand ambassador of a fashion line and the House of Aquadi.
In 2022, He played the character of Governamet in the Netflix original series Far From Home, starring alongside some other talented actors, including Elma Mbadiwe, Olumide Oworu, Tomi Ojo, Genovena Umeh, Moshood Fattah, Ruby Okezie, Mike Afolarin, Natse Jemide, and others.
