In the 50-metre freestyle, she finished 7th in the heats with a time of 27.94, followed by similar results in the 100-metre and 200-metre freestyle heats. Her participation in the 400-meter freestyle was withdrawn due to event regulations. Lim’s involvement extended to relay events, where she contributed to the 4×100-meter freestyle relay.

In subsequent years, her determination led to participation in various international competitions, including the FINA Swimming World Cup and the Southeast Asian Games. At the 2009 Asian Youth Games, Lim clinched multiple medals, setting new national and meet records. Her achievements persisted, including commendable performances at the 2009 World Aquatics Championships and the Hong Kong International Open.

Lim’s journey continued as she participated in events like the Asian Games, World Aquatics Championships, and the Commonwealth Games. Following thorough investigations conducted by authorities, both Amanda Lim and Joseph Schooling were subsequently issued a stern warning by the Central Narcotics Bureau under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
