William Mundala (born on December 4, 1999) is a renowned French artist known professionally as Tiakola. He initially gained recognition as a member of the 4Keus group but later embarked on a solo career, leaving a lasting mark on the music scene. Since venturing independently, he has consistently remained in the spotlight, captivating audiences with his unique talent and style.

Early Life & Education

Tiakola was born and raised in Bondy, France, into the family of Mr. & Mrs. Mundala. He held the distinction of being the youngest among eight siblings, an experience that shaped his formative years.

Growing up in Bondy, Tiakola was in the vibrant atmosphere of the “Cite des 4000” housing project in La Corneuve. In this dynamic setting, he was first exposed to the rich tapestry of French hip-hop and drill music. His journey as a musician took a significant turn in 2019 when he embarked on a solo career under the alias “Sombre Mélodie,” a name derived from the CRCLR Mouvement compilation. This marked the beginning of a remarkable musical odyssey.

In his solo endeavour, Tiakola quickly made a name for himself by collaborating with esteemed artists such as Dadju, Franglish, Leto, and Gazo. These collaborations showcased his versatility and prowess as an artist. In 2021, he reemerged as a solo artist with the “Pousse-toi” track, further solidifying his music industry position.

One of the pivotal moments in Tiakola’s career came on May 27, 2022, when he unveiled his debut album titled “Mélo.” This album was a testament to his musical evolution and featured collaborations with prominent rappers like Hamza, Gazo, Niska, SDM, and Rsko. “Mélo” comprised 16 tracks (20 in physical copies), each a testament to Tiakola’s creativity and musical ingenuity.

Tiakola’s influence extended beyond French borders as he embarked on collaborations with international icons such as Xxxtentacion, Juice WRLD, and Ice Spice, resulting in chart-topping hits that resonated with audiences worldwide.
