Personal Life

Mohbad, whose rise to fame had been on a meteoric trajectory, was entangled in a web of controversies that cast a shadow over his career. The turning point came when the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) unearthed illicit substances, including MDMA and Cannabis, in their residence in the upscale area of Lekki, Lagos, in February 2022. This startling discovery resulted in Mohbad’s arrest, sending shockwaves through the music industry and his fanbase.

Eyewitnesses came forward with accounts suggesting that the NDLEA’s entry into the musician’s home was not a polite visit but rather an aggressive raid, accompanied by a legal warrant, during the early hours of a Thursday morning. The NDLEA, defending their actions, deemed the operation a success and revealed their findings of a significant quantity of Molly and Cannabis in the residential premises linked to Naira Marley, located in Idado estate.

Following his release from custody, Mohbad decided to cut ties with Naira Marley’s crew after being a part of it for two years. This separation was fraught with controversy, heated arguments, and even incidents of violence between the two parties.

Then, tragedy struck the Nigerian music industry on September 12, 2023, as the talented Mohbad met an untimely demise. Speculation and curiosity loomed large as the industry and fans sought answers to the perplexing question of what had led to the premature death of this young and promising musician.

These allegations stem from a tumultuous past between the two artists, with rumors circulating that their bitter feud may have played a role in this unfortunate incident. However, it is imperative to note that these claims remain unverified and should be treated with caution until concrete evidence emerges.

Amid this tragedy, a poignant detail emerges from Mohbad’s personal life. He had recently celebrated the arrival of a baby boy with his long-time girlfriend.
