Early Life
Lucid, born and raised in Abuja, specifically in the Bwari Area Council of Nigeria, was raised in a Christian household that provided a nurturing and supportive environment.
During his formative years, Lucid attended Peace Academy for his primary education and later pursued his secondary education at Abuja Standard College, also located in Abuja.
From a young age, Lucid developed an interest in music, drawing inspiration from renowned artists within the industry. He began honing his singing skills while still in school, dedicating time and effort to refine his talent.
Eventually, his dedication and hard work paid off as he started gaining recognition and making a name for himself within the music industry.
Career
Lucid officially began his musical career in 2020 when he started recording his songs in professional studios and regularly shared his freestyles and covers of popular songs.
Prior to this, Lucid had been actively involved in the music scene since 2018, primarily doing freestyles without any proper recordings.
In 2021, he released his debut single, “Lyk that,” which helped him gain fans who were captivated by his melodious voice and style of singing. This track, being his first official recording and the massive praise from fans, boosted his confidence and inspired him to pursue more studio recordings.
After his initial recording, Lucid took a break to further educate himself about music since he was still a novice in the industry. During this period, he didn’t neglect his newly acquired fanbase and continued to share freestyles on his social media platforms while honing his skills and refining his sound.
In August 2021, Lucid came across a talent hunt organized by O Records (Oladips Record). The contest aimed to select 20 contestants, and Lucid participated, followed all the necessary steps, and ultimately secured a spot among the chosen 20.
In October 2021, all 20 contestants performed before a panel of musically trained judges, and Lucid emerged as the winner at the end of the event. As a result, Lucid was signed to the O Records Label in 2022 as the contest’s victor.
He released his first track under O Records titled “Tatashe,” which gained significant attention and propelled him into the spotlight. In 2023, Lucid unveiled his 7-track EP called “Hi I’m LuLu,” featuring songs such as “Tatashe,” “Heart & Soul,” “Night Bus,” “Flat Tyre,” and more.
