She has two older step-sisters from her father’s past relationship. Amandla attended grade and high school in California before enrolling at New York City University.

In 2011, Amandla Stenberg debuted in Olivier Megaton’s ” Columbiana ” action thriller.” However, her role in the 2012 dystopian science fiction film “The Hunger Games,” directed by Gary Ross, catapulted her to global fame. The film received critical acclaim and became a massive box office success, grossing over $700 million worldwide against a $75 million budget. Amandla’s performance earned her widespread recognition and marked a significant milestone in her career.

Stenberg’s involvement in the documentary film “The World Is Watching: And Then There is the Making of The Hunger Games” in 2012 further showcased her versatility and contributed to the film’s acclaim, winning several awards and nominations.

Following her success in “The Hunger Games,” Amandla expanded into television, starring in the television film “A Taste of Romance” (2013-2014) and making appearances in the series “Sleepy Hollow.” She also lent her voice to the animated musical comedy film “Rio 2” and ventured into new media.
